Programs
Filmmakers Collaborative is committed to serving both the public and emerging and experienced media makers through our outreach programs.
Our conferences and workshops serve emerging and experienced media makers by providing educational and networking opportunities. On May 30th, 2008, we held Making Media Now: The Art & Business of Filmmaking to explore both creative and financial/distribution topics with industry professionals from across the nation. Click here to see a video of Fernanda Rossi’s “Documentary Story Structure: From Great to Excellent” workshop, a highlight of MMN 2008.
Making Media Now 2009 will be held June 5th, 2009 at Bentley College.
Our award-winning Film Talks program makes a wide variety of films — and the filmmakers who produced them — available to audiences throughout the state at venues such as community centers, Boys & Girls clubs, senior centers, health centers, after-school teen programs, high schools, universities, libraries, youth media programs, prisons, and homeless shelters.
By connecting the public with filmmakers and their work, Film Talks offers opportunities for both to explore relevant issues and to discuss the filmmaking process and the choices filmmakers make. The Massachusetts Cultural Council awarded FC with the “Gold Star” award for Film Talks in 2002 and 2005.
